OUT WITH THE OLD

They say spring is the time of the year to go out with the old and in with the new and I’ve certainly did that in many aspects of my life. Incase you haven’t noticed, the Typical Amy blog name has been retired and I’m back as What Amy Did along with a heavily tweaked layout and lots of exciting posts in the pipeline. What Amy Did has been my username on social media for years and when I began blogging, I somehow didn’t naturally gravitate towards it and looking back, I wish I had. Typical Amy needed a revamp and I decided if I was going to do just that, was a rebrand not perfect timing? So I teamed both together and viola! What do you think? I’d love to hear some feedback so if you have any then please do let me know, it would be much appreciated. You may have noticed I’ve been a little MIA on the blog and social media and it’s been because these last few weeks have been crazy. I’ve been extremely busy and blogging just wasn’t sitting in my top priorities but i’m so glad to have some spare time with it being the bank holiday and all to properly sit down and get my blogging mojo back.

So what has Amy did?

Well I started my new job just 2 weeks ago and it’s been great. For those of you who hadn’t seen my last life update or follow me on social media, I’m now currently on secondment to work on a digital programme that I’m so excited to be a part of. It’s for 12 months and after this period finishes, I’ll go back to my previous role so I’m looking forward to grabbing this opportunity with both hands and learning lots – so far so good!

The weather has been completely all over the place but surprisingly, there have been a few sunny days were I’ve managed to take advantage of the good weather with my loved ones. My sister & I managed to have a night in the garden catching up on the sun and my boyfriend and I went a road trip last Saturday and enjoyed a spot of lunch. As usual in Scotland, it hasn’t stuck around for long and we’ve even had snow and hail showers so I’m thankful that when they sun has been out, I’ve been able to spend time in it which is raaaare!

I’ve been redecorating and having a major Spring clean too. I recently read the magic of tidying up which has inspired me to de clutter my life which is currently in full swing. I have loads of clothes I’m either selling on eBay or going to charity. I’ve repainted my room white but considering scraping my grey wall and going for a Pantone shade which I know will be met with cries of it being “too girly”.

Also over the past month, I’ve been to a few weddings – it’s truly a sign that your getting old when the only nights out you get are either engagement parties, weddings or housewarmings! I have another this Friday and I managed to snap up an ASOS dress I’ve had my eye on but has been out of stock for what seems like forever! So I’m thinking of doing a wedding style post as dressing for weddings is one of my favourites things to do.

I’m so thankful that it’s spring and I’m excited to see all the summer clothes that are coming into shops. I’m glad the Bardot trend is still going this year as it was my favourite from last summer. I’m loving all the pastel Spring shades and seeing my Instagram feed filled with pictures of fresh flowers.

Lastly, how gorgeous is my new phone cover? This is from Go Customised* which is a site were you can upload your own photo to make your own cover. I went for this background which is all different shades and textures of marble. I love it and it’s pretty sturdy too.

All in all, it’s been a busy few weeks but I’m excited to get blogging again. I miss it so much when I have a break but sometimes you just need to take some time, recharge your batteries and let yourself get inspired. What do you think of the rebrand? What have you been getting up to these past few weeks? I’d love to hear your thoughts below or as always, you can tweet me at @whatamydidblog
